HOME ¢º About Us ¢ºCEO Greetings

Dear Customer,

The legacy of HIGEN MOTOR as one of the 3 major leaders in the Korean motor market dates back to 52 years ago, when LG Group of Korea started motor production in 1963 for import substitution.

In the year 2000, Otis, a subsidiary of United Technology of U.S.A., took over the motor business from LG and ran it as a division of Otis Elevator Korea until 2008 when the division was spun off as an independent corporation with the name of HIGEN MOTOR opening an new horizon of Higen era.

Entering the 8th year of Higen era in 2015, HIGEN MOTOR, has been specializing in motors and motor related technology including low voltage( with as high as nearly 20% market share in Korea ) and high voltage induction motors ( covering up to 11 KV in voltage and 3500 KW in power output) , explosion proof motors, servo drives and servo motors, electric vehicle motors, elevator motors and traction machines and related applications.

The business record of the last 7 years of Higen era has made remarkable progress in sales, new product development, R&D organization and international technological collaboration.

Most notably, our intensive and continuous R&D investment on EtherCAT based European motion controller interface projects has finally started to trigger a rapid growth of servo business in 2014.

Furthermore, high voltage business sector has also made very impressive growth in sales after substantial investment on HV production infrastructure despite the economic recession.

Overall, despite the global economic downturn, the total annual corporate sales record of Higen could continuously increase over the past consecutive 3 years.

For this inspiring record, I respectfully extend my sincere gratitude to our valuable customers and distributors who supported Higen brand in the market and to our employees and executives of sincere work ethic devoted to their mission at manufacturing line, workplace and office.

This year, we will continue our ambitious sales growth expedition.

On our expedition, we will intensify our role, particularly, in highly prospective EPC ( Engineering Procurement and Construction) market and will step up our export initiatives in China, Europe and Asia.

As a technology intensive R&D industrial leader in the Korean motion control industry, Higen will make contribution to upgrade the domestic industrial competence and localize the high tech servo motors and drives widely used for semi conductor, LCD,LED, automobile, ship building and machinery industries and will endeavor to substitute the foreign import brands dominant in the Korean market.

In the prospective business sector of electric vehicle motor, HIGEN has acquired TS16949 certificate and become an approved supplier with SQ mark to Hyundai Motor Corporation.

On the other horizon of robotics and factory automation, we will activate the prominent role of Higen in the R&D and product development.

In the elevator market, Higen will expand our export of elevator traction machine that we recently started in the Middle East.

Premium quality products of HIGEN are widely used by Korea's industrial leaders, machinery manufacturers including POSCO, HYUNDAI, OTIS, WILO Pump, Samsung, LG, Korea Electricity Power Corporation, LS and Dongbu Robot.

We invite you to join our global business network in support of our mission, "For the World and for the Future", devoted to energy efficient total solution of innovative, high tech motion control products of international premium standards.

We welcome you as our valuable customer to visit our website and to contact me for any business opportunity.

Sincerely yours,

Jae Hak Kim
